Help Japan
By now you’ve all heard about the large earthquake that devastated Japan. Our thoughts and prayers over here at FYM go out to everyone affected by the tragedy. If you would like to help, as I already have, James White over at SignalNoise.com is taking preorders of an amazing piece of work he has created to help raise money for the relief efforts in Japan. All profits received will be donated to helping Japan rebuild. If you feel more comfortable donating directly to a charity, he has a list of verified donation sites where you can do so.
The important thing is to just help Japan.
UPDATE: As of March 31st, everybody who donated to James White’s Help Japan effort has helped raise over $15,000! A big thank you goes out to everyone who has donated so far, but let’s not stop there. If you haven’t donated yet, it’s not too late. You can still purchase a Help Japan poster or donate to a charity of your choice to help Japan in their time of need!

I sincerely hope everyone up in Japan’s going to be okay. I’ve got a friend that lives near Tokyo, and I’m really worried about her and her family, since the earthquake hit rather hard around that area.
For a couple of months, I’d been looking forward to making a major software purchase for a website of mine, but I donated all my money for that in her name instead, and sent her family a postcard through GlobalGiving.org (who knows if they’ve got Internet access right now?). I hope I hear back from her soon…
I hope your friend and her family are okay. I have a couple of friends over there, but I’ve been lucky enough to have heard back from them. It’s a scary and sad time for everyone involved.
