After many sleepless nights and hours of debate, we have finally come to a conclusion on the winner of our HP EliteBook 8740w Mobile Workstation Giveaway. And the winner is… Peter Deltchev!
Peter is a 15 year old aspiring computer programmer, web developer, and composer whose ultimate goal is to break into game development. During all of this, he also finds time to participate in the FIRST Tech Challenge, a high-profile international robotics competition for high school students. Rock on, Peter!
Peter not only wowed me with a PowerPoint presentation, but also rendered out a video displaying who he is, what he does and just what he would do with the HP EliteBook if he won. That was included in an over 800 word essay that explained in further detail all of the above. Well, Peter, you don’t have to dream anymore. It’s time to make your dreams a reality!

In the first part of our review of the HP EliteBook 8740w Mobile Workstation, we showed you the EliteBook and its specs; in Part II, we went into deeper detail on the hardware and software in the 8740w; and, in the final part of the review, we went over render times and final thoughts on this beast. Entries can be a written essay, a photograph slideshow, a short film, animation, motion graphics piece–whatever it is you do creatively, do it to win this Workstation! The more creative you are, the better, so don’t just write one sentence and call it good. Put some heart into it. However, we aren’t looking for sad stories; we want to know how the EliteBook can help you better yourself and your work, and be specific. It wouldn’t hurt to, if you haven’t already, look through our three part review of this beast to see exactly what it’s made of. Remember, you’re trying to win a $5,000 piece of equipment here.

1. All entries must be in before March 7th (Midnight Central Time on March 6th). After that, we will go over all valid entries and determine a winner, which will be announced approximately one week later (an exact date will be determined after all entries are received).

This is one really intense system! Our workstations are hps & 1 laptop, but all our homeschool kid bloggers have another brands’ netbooks. Yet, they are true engineers and software developers and computer animation artists. While I’m the next one who needs a workstation for my online biz, they would do wonders for the video, animation, gaming software and hardware challenging them to levels they deserve, as they already far exceed typical “mom bloggers” for their technological abilities and engineering expertise–actually they far exceed computer hardware and software of many high schoolers, let alone college students not studying computers, engineering or STEM degrees.
