If you work in the motion design industry and haven’t seen this music video yet, you owe it to yourself to check out “Gettin’ Money With a Mouse and a Wacom Pen (Fuck Comic Sans Fuck Papyrus, Too)” created by Daily Planet Ltd and performed by Money Money Money.

This video is rampant with inside jokes and lighthearted motion-nerd humor that any motionographer can have a good laugh at. Lines like, “Light up the stage with global illumination” and “I’ve seen your reel, pal; rippin’ off moves from Creative Cow” had me choking on my morning coffee, and hours after I had watched it, I was rapping the lyrics in my kitchen while making dinner. What can I say; it’s catchy.

The really interesting thing is what’s happened after it was released. From the moment we first caught wind of it and tweeted out the link (along with hundreds, if not thousands, of other motion artists), this music video has skyrocketed through the roof. In its first day alone, “Gettin’ Money With a Mouse and a Wacom Pen” has garnered close to a whopping 18,000 views. This song and its accompanying video have become an anthem for motionographers all around the world, and it’s all well deserved.
